Shea butter is the main active ingredient in Mamata's cosmetic line. We choose the highest quality shea butter: it is processed in the villages of Burkina Faso, as per tradition, with total respect for nature. And we use it in high concentration, to fully harness all its properties for the benefit of your skin.
Transforming the history of skincare
My name is Faouzia Barra, daughter of two worlds. Born and raised in Italy, with roots firmly planted in the beating heart of Burkina Faso, I have breathed, since childhood, the harmony of two cultures intertwined like threads of the same fabric: a weave that smells of home, of red earth and olive wind.
I have never felt far from my homeland. I feel Burkina as home and as childhood: in the gestures handed down by my mother, in her stories, and in the ancient rituals of care and love. I remember my mother melting shea butter, our "yellow gold", between her fingers: I can still smell its warm, pure scent, the consistency that softened in her hands and melted into her skin, almost like a hug.
It was her way of caring for us, protecting us, and passing on millennia-old customs and traditions.
Nature, a king, a village
It's all written in Mamata's history. Nature is our strength because we know it well; we know how to extract all the power it holds and transform it into care for your skin. Our natural ingredients take us back to a regal past. In Burkina Faso, in the village of Re Issa, the grandfather of the founder Faouzia, a village where women have always cultivated and worked the (mother) earth with respect, without coercion.
