Il respiro della terra: il burro di Karitè di Mamata

The Breath of the Earth: Mamata's Shea Butter

There's a story born in human hands, not in machines. A story that smells of warm nuts, African wind, and ancient rituals. It is the story of Mamata and her shea butter: pure, raw, and authentic.

Hand-extracted from the nuts of the shea tree that grows in the savannas of West Africa, Mamata's butter is a caress that speaks the language of the earth. It undergoes no industrial refining; it knows neither solvents nor chemical treatments. It is extracted with water and fire, just as it was done in ancient times and as tradition dictates, following gestures passed down from mother to daughter.

It is a dense, golden butter that retains all its natural active ingredients: vitamins A, E, and F, with soothing, antioxidant, and regenerating power. It is a precious ally for dry, sensitive skin, marked by time and/or sun. The presence of abundant quantities of fatty acids nourishes dry and frizzy hair, protects curls, and adds shine and softness to dull ends. But, above all, it envelops. It is a "magical," versatile, pleiotropic raw material.

At room temperature, it is solid, but body heat is enough to melt it. Between the warmth of the fingers, it transforms into a thin, velvety oil that penetrates deeply, without greasiness, leaving the skin with the touch of a caress.

Mamata is not just a name; it carries the image of a woman, a tradition, a people, and their customs. Her project stems from the desire to restore dignity and autonomy to the communities of women who harvest and process the butter. Each jar tells a fragment of this story.

Using Mamata's shea butter is much more than a beauty gesture. It is a slow ritual, an encounter with nature, an act of love towards oneself and towards those who, far from us, work with their hearts.
